My furry companion, best friend, and endless source of joy
Velvet is more than just a pet — she's family, my baby, my furry soulmate. From the moment she came into my life, she's brought nothing but love, laughter, chaos, and the occasional sock heist. She's a tiny dictator who runs our house, a professional undergarment thief, and the sweetest little angel who thinks she's a "sanskari dog" when we go outside. Here are some of our favorite memories together — the scary moments, the funny moments, and everything in between. ✨

I found Velvet at the Dubai Birds & Pets Market. I still carry a tiny regret in my heart that I didn't adopt — back then, I didn't realize the depth of the issue with breeding and pet stores. I wasn't mature enough to understand. But the universe still chose this moment for us.
She was in a small glass enclosure, and the moment she saw me, she followed me with her little eyes everywhere I walked in the shop. I tried to leave… but she wouldn't stop looking. Her tiny paws, that hopeful stare, that soft little body pressed against the edge of the box — as if saying "Please don't leave me."
And that was it. My heart knew — she was mine. That was the first moment I held Velvet… and the day my life changed forever. 💛
Her first grooming session at the vet — she was terrified. Her tail tucked in, big round eyes looking at me like, "Amma… why are they taking me? 😭"
But when she came out… OH. MY. GOD. She looked like a little kid dressed up for her first day of school — fresh haircut, fluffy coat, a tiny bandana, and that proud-but-confused expression like "Do I look pretty?"
Yes baby, you looked PERFECT. ✨🎀
Her very first Christmas 🎅🎄 We got her a tiny Santa dress — red velvet with white fuzzy borders. Velvet the Santa Pup! 🥹
She walked around like she owned the North Pole. Everyone in the family melted and she soaked in all the attention like the queen she is.
We moved into our new house — a fresh chapter for us. Velvet had to say goodbye to the first place she ever called home… the hall where she learned to play fetch, the balcony where she watched birds, the exact spot on the floor where she curled up to nap.
She explored every corner of the new house, sniffing every wall like a tiny inspector with a fluffy tail. This time, she wasn't scared. She knew she was home — because home isn't walls… Home is wherever her family is. 🧡
One of the scariest days of my life. Velvet swallowed a metal spring. We rushed her to Pawsitive Clinic in DSO — completely panicked. They took her into emergency surgery, and those moments waiting outside felt like time had stopped. I was shaking… trying not to cry… just praying she'd be okay.
And then the vet finally came out, holding that spring in a tray… and our tiny fighter came back to us wagging her tail like nothing had happened.
She's a miracle. Our brave baby girl. 🧡🐾
Sock Thief. Undergarment Criminal. Zoomies Queen.
Velvet has a few… quirks 🤭
📌 At home: She is a full-time menace. She steals socks, hoards undergarments, and proudly displays them like trophies — because why chew toys when you have your parents' most embarrassing laundry? 😌
She sneaks around with ninja skills and the moment we shout "VELVET!!!" she runs at turbo speed with our clothes in her mouth like she's training for the Olympics. 🏃♀️💨🧦
Zoomies? Oh yeah. If she sees someone she loves → she turns into a furry rocket launcher 🚀 doing laps around the house until the furniture fears for its life.
📌 Outside: Suddenly… Velvet becomes the Sanskari Dog™. The "Yes Auntie, I am very well behaved 🥺✨" dog. The "Who, me? I would never bark or steal underwear… I'm a classy lady" dog 😇
People outside: "Wow she's so calm and such a good girl!"
Us: 😐 IF ONLY YOU KNEW.
She's the best dog in the entire world …but also the tiny dictator who runs the house. And honestly? We wouldn't change a single thing ❤️🐾
